Inclusively Creative: A Global Recovery

The 3rd World Conference on Creative Economy (WCCE) hosted by Indonesia in partnership with UNCTAD and the G20 Presidency 2022 will cover a wide range of issues related to the creative economy under the main theme of Inclusively Creative: A Global Recovery. The event has four subthemes: Creative Economy for Global Revival; Inclusivity and SDGs Agenda; Intellectual Property and Rights of the Creatives; and The Future of Creative Economy.

The conference provides a unique opportunity for creative economy stakeholders from various backgrounds (government, policymakers, private sector, academics, media, and other creative economy actors) from all around the world to gather, interact and explore ways to advance the creative economy, establish concrete economic cooperation and expand business networks.

UNCTAD will launch the 2022 Creative Economy Outlook during the WCCE on 7 October. The report provides a global picture of international trade flows of creative goods and services as well as the findings of the first ever survey carried out by UNCTAD with member States on the Creative Economy highlighting institutional arrangements and national plans and strategies of member States showing how the creative economy has become a sector of growing social, political, and economic importance.

Considering the macroeconomic importance of the creative economy, it is due time to recalibrate and determine its position in a global roadmap. The 3rd WCCE 2022 in Bali, as an G20 Indonesia side event, serves as a platform for discussions and showcases the concrete contributions of creative industries to global recovery.

This event will be held in hybrid mode, free of charge, and open to the public.
