Annual Meeting of the Working Group on Trade and Competition for Latin America and Caribbean countries

The theme of the interaction of competition policy with technological innovation will be discussed at this year's annual meeting. The trade and competition authorities of the countries of the region will discuss the measures that must be taken to boost innovation. Innovation is a necessary component to improve the productivity and competitiveness of the economies. Latin America has a very low innovation rate and consequently countries must implement public policies that facilitate the creation of innovative companies.

On the other hand, during the national competition day UNCTAD has proposed two round tables to discuss compliance programs and their application in the Latin American region.
