Dissemination of UNCTAD's Voluntary Peer Review on Consumer Protection Law and Policy of Morocco

The Voluntary Peer Review on Consumer Protection Law and Policy of Morocco was conducted under the auspices of UNCTAD at its Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Consumer Proteciton Law and Policy on 9 July 2018 in Geneva, Switzerland.

The recommendations emanating from this exercise include legal and policy reform, as well as priority setting and capacity building. UNCTAD is hosting various dissemination events on 22 and 23 November 2018 in Morocco to raise awareness among stakeholders of the impact that the countries' Voluntary Peer Review on Consumer Protection Law and Policy may have in improving consumer policies and welfare.

The dissemination events include bilateral meetings with the Moroccan Government, Parliament and the Judiciary; as well as public events with larger audiences including consumer associations, business representatives, academia and the media. UNCTAD will be accompanied by Morocco's peer reviewers, the Heads of consumer protection authorities of Belgium, Lebanon and Portugal.
