National Validation Workshop of the eTrade Readiness Assessment of Mongolia

07 - 08 February 2023
Online
, Mongolia

In close cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UNCTAD is organizing a national validation workshop (online) to present the results of the eTrade Readiness Assessment (eT Ready) of Mongolia to the members of the National E-Commerce Task Force, development partners and representatives of the private sector. The eT Ready is supported by the Government of Korea and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

This workshop follows a series of bilateral meetings and multi-stakeholder consultations with key e-commerce players in Mongolia, organized in Ulaanbaatar in June 2022, which led to the elaboration of the eT Ready assessment. Additionally, fruitful exchanges with the eTrade for all initiative partners and the UN Country Team in Mongolia highlighted several digital-related initiatives of development partners, including the EBRD, UNCITRAL, ITC, UPU, ESCAP, ADB, UNDP, UNIDO, UNESCO, JICA, KOICA, SECO, EU and WB.

The validation workshop aims to bring together all national stakeholders and development partners to:

  • Present the main findings of the eT Ready of Mongolia.
  • Collect feedback and any supplementary information contributing to the eT Ready assessment.
  • Discuss the results and suggested policy recommendations to agree on the priority actions that will be integrated into the Action Matrix of the eT Ready assessment.

Build synergies with development partners regarding ongoing and planned digital-related initiatives that could support the implementation of priority actions.
