The meeting discussed the progress and timetable for the completion of UNCTAD's Istanbul Creative Economy Study, which aims to provide an overview of the most salient creative industries sectors in the city of Istanbul, share examples of successful creative sectors and highlights opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. The study will provide suggestions for strengthening the creative economy in Istanbul.

A launching ceremony and a Creative Economy Workshop is planned to take place in Istanbul in December 2015, to share the results of the study and to promote the collaboration among policy-makers at the city level and creative industries stakeholders.
