The G-24 Discussion Paper Series is a collection of research papers prepared under the UNCTAD Project of Technical Support to the Intergovernmental Group of Twenty-Four on International Monetary Affairs and Development (G-24).
The project aims at enhancing the understanding of policy makers in developing countries of the complex issues in the international monetary and financial system, and at raising awareness outside developing countries of the need to introduce a development dimension into the discussion of international financal and institutional reform.
The Project is financed by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) of Canada and contributions by the G-24 countries themselves. Since its origin, which goes back to 1975, it has contributed to the coherence of the developing countries´ approach to international monetary and financial issues, and strengthened the contribution of developing countries to the committees governing the IMF and the World Bank. UNCTAD´s Division on Globalization and Development Strategies provides substantive backstopping and publishes the research papers in the special G-24 Discussion Paper Series
