Advisory services to officials of investment promotion agencies and other government institutions dealing with FDI promotion can include how to:
- identify and target investors so that national development objectives are met;
- rationalize investment promotion activities; and
- attract and facilitate new investment, as well as retain and expand existing investments.

The technical assistance programme of ASIT is demand-driven. Following a request for technical assistance, ASIT will normally elaborate a project document and attempt to mobilize resources for project activities.
