  18 February - The financial crisis and interrelated climate and food crises have become defining parameters for policy-making today. The Trade and Environment Review 2009/2010 asserts that these crises offer a window of opportunity to embark on a path of more resilient and sustainable economic growth, including in low-income and least developed countries.

 22 Jan 10 – A new economic policy model is needed in the aftermath of the crisis, UNCTAD’s head told the Group of 77 developing countries at a ceremony at UN Headquarters in New York on Friday. Rather than continuing with “ business as usual” – economic management based on minimal government intervention, loose regulation, and poor international coordination – the global economic system should be shaped to meet the long-term interests of all countries and their peoples, Mr. Supachai said.
