22 Jan 10 – A new economic policy model is needed in the aftermath of the crisis, UNCTAD’s head told the Group of 77 developing countries at a ceremony at UN Headquarters in New York on Friday. Rather than continuing with “business as usual” – economic management based on minimal government intervention, loose regulation, and poor international coordination – the global economic system should be shaped to meet the long-term interests of all countries and their peoples, Mr. Supachai said.
