Highlights

This paper concerns itself with the interface between the environment and foreign direct investment (FDI). Since few international investment agreements (IIAs) actually contain provisions that refer directly to the environment or environmental protection, this paper also looks at environmental agreements with direct reference to FDI or TNCs, as future negotiators of international investment agreements may need to be familiar with environmental concerns.
