News The Sixth International Cocoa Agreement was signed the first week of March, 2001 in Geneva, Switzerland. The signing of this new agreement, which will replace the 1993 agreement, brought together negotiators representing the main cocoa importing and exporting countries, as well as international organizations and the main players in the cocoa industry. The new agreement shall enter into force definitely on 1 October 2003. Documents on the Cocoa Conference and the International Cocoa Agreement may be found here. UNCTAD is preparing a CD Rom on cocoa market structures, which among other subjects, analyses the situation of the cocoa economy in the main producing countries. Site Map
