  12 November - The Blue Book of Zambia won the award in the category of ´Smart Regulation´. It represents an endorsement of UNCTAD´s work assisting African governments to improve their investment environments.
  11 Jun - The G8 Summit declared support for UNCTAD Investment Policy Reviews (IPRs) and called for UNCTAD to join forces with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) to fashion effective methods for increasing FDI to developing countries, and to link these efforts closely with the UNCTAD XII conference to be held in Accra, Ghana, from 20-25 April 2008.
  21 March - UNCTAD and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) have presented the Vice President of Zambia, Rupiah Bandah, with a 10-point action plan -- called a Blue Book on Best Practices in Investment Promotion and Facilitation -- to help the country improve its performance in attracting foreign investment.
  13 March - The UNCTAD investment policy review (IPR) of Zambia was presented on 12 March at a meeting of the Commission on Investment, Technology and Related Financial Issues, and the Zambian Minister of Commerce, Trade and Industry, Kenneth Konga, provided an overview of the Government´s current investment policy.
