27th CSTD side event: Shaping the Future of AI

The event is aimed at providing the audience with perspectives on the opportunities and risks associated with AI, which will be helpful in their organizations’ AI development or adoption. It is also intended to provide inputs to the UN and its Member States in designing AI governance and monitoring programs.  

The panel discussion will last for 90 minutes and will be divided into three-parts. 

• Part 1 will explore expert insights on AI's potential, including new generative AI capabilities and their contribution to people and the UN SDGs. 
• Part 2 will address AI risks such as self-awareness, trust, and safety issues. 
• Part 3 will introduce new AI STR standards and include an open discussion with attendees.
