How would the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) draft product-specific rules of origin (PSROs) related to textile and garment products?
UNCTAD will present best practices and lessons learned by illustrating specific examples linking PSROs to the utilization of preferences in a given product.
In addition, the presentation includes specific differentiation of rules across various European Union Economic Partnership Agreements in Africa vis-à-vis intra-African regional economic communities such as COMESA, EAC, and SADC.
Lastly, UNCTAD will offer recommendations on possible ways to draft product specific rules of origin.
