Contribution to the EU-Angola Business Forum: presentation of the Angola Investment Policy Review

Background and objectives:

The European Union will organize an EU-Angola Business Forum on 24 March 2022 with the objective of encouraging European investment in Angola by emphasizing economic prospects and potential. The event will promote Angola as an investment destination to increase trade, create decent jobs, and encourage long-term, diverse growth.

In this context, UNCTAD will contribute to the panel on EU-Angola Investment & Trade agreements through the presentation of the Investment Policy Review (IPR) of Angola, produced under the EU-UNCTAD Joint Programme for Angola: Train for Trade II. The panel will be moderated by the Ministry of Economy and Planning of Angola.

The forum will gather government officials from the EU and Angola, investors, business support organizations, and financial institutions to discuss investment opportunities and challenges in concrete terms. In this regard, the Train for Trade II Programme is supporting AIPEX in its preparations and participation in the event.

Contribuição para o Fórum Empresarial UE-Angola: apresentação da Revisão da Política de Investimento de Angola

Antecedentes e objetivos:

A União Europeia organizará um Fórum Empresarial UE-Angola em 24 de março de 2022 com o objectivo de encorajar o investimento europeu em Angola, dando ênfase às perspectivas e potencialidades económicas. O evento irá promover Angola como um destino de investimento para aumentar o comércio, criar empregos decentes, e encorajar o crescimento diversificado a longo prazo.

Neste contexto, a CNUCED contribuirá para o painel sobre os acordos de Investimento e Comércio UE-Angola através da apresentação da Revisão da Política de Investimento (IPR) de Angola, produzida no âmbito do Programa Conjunto UE-CNUCED para Angola: Train for Trade II. O painel será moderado pelo Ministério da Economia e Planeamento de Angola.

O fórum reunirá funcionários governamentais da UE e de Angola, investidores, organizações de apoio empresarial, e instituições financeiras para discutir oportunidades de investimento e desafios em termos concretos. A este respeito, o Programa Train for Trade II está a apoiar a AIPEX na sua preparação e participação no evento.
