Development of entrepreneurship policy in Angola is part of the Empretec component of the UNCTAD Programme of Support for Angola: Train for Trade II jointly implemented with the Ministry of Commerce and financed by the European Union.
The objective of the stakeholder meeting on the entrepreneurship policy is to discuss with key national counterparts the application in Angola of the UNCTAD’s Entrepreneurship Policy Framework (EPF), which will be the main instrument for development of the entrepreneurship strategy and policy in the country. Angolan national stakeholders will receive information and guidance about the EPF methodology, how it would be used to design and implement a national entrepreneurship strategy and action plan through an interactive step-by-step approach.
Discussions will be structured including based on UNCTAD’s experience on the EPF application in five countries (Cameroon, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, The Gambia, and Tanzania). Participants will be guided through the six pillars of UNCTAD’s Entrepreneurship Policy framework (EPF), which are Formulating National Entrepreneurship Strategy, Optimizing the Regulatory Environment, Enhancing Entrepreneurship Education and Skills Development, Facilitating Technology Exchange and Innovation, Improving Access to Finance and Promoting Awareness and Networking. Key components in each area will be discussed, including such as policy objectives, policy options, key indicators for the progress monitoring; as well as issues of stakeholder coordination at a national level.
