This event is the first joint Competition Forum organized under the cooperation agreement between the UN-ESCWA UNCTAD and the OECD, which aims to help strengthen competition law and policy across the Arab region. Bringing the unique experiences and expertise of the three organisations together, the Forum will promote the knowledge-sharing, dialog and networking between high-level competition officials, policymakers, regulators and the broader competition community. It will also be an opportunity for identifying possible future works through the communication between the organisations and countries. Topics to be discussed include competition and economic development; effective competition frameworks; competition policy and private sector development; and competition and public procurement.
