International Competition Network (ICN) annual Conference Colombia 2019: presentation of UNCTAD's COMPAL IV program activity on Competition Compliance programs for Latin American countries in partnership with ZHAW - Zurich School of Management and Law

UNCTAD supports the ICN in the form of participating at its annual conferences and theme-specific workshops. For the edition of ICN 2019 in Cartagena, UNCTAD will organize on May 16 a special side-event with ZHAW - Zurich School of Management and Law to present a joint activity on Competition compliance in Latin America under the COMPAL IV technical cooperation project. This activity is addressed at Competition authorities and private sector representatives.  The first event planned will be held in Asuncion, Paraguay in October 2019. Competition authorities of Latin America (Peru and Colombia will present the programs developed under COMPAL III in 2018) and representatives of the private sector will attend.

 

Furthermore, UNCTAD will intervene in a session on Competition law and policy in Latin American countries and will participate in an ICN side-event organized by the Mexican Competition Authority on “Lessons to be Learnt from the Experience of Young Competition Agencies”, May 15, and in the ICN Merger Working Group break out Session on procedural infringements, May 16, sharing updated information related the 2 chapters of the UNCTAD Model Law on Competition presented in the IGE 2018.
