International Forum on the Creative Economy for Sustainable Development in Aguascalientes

UNESCO Mexico, Mexican Women Entrepreneurs (MEMAC) and the cultural management company ZORRO SOLAR, join efforts with the business sector of Aguascalientes and with local governments for the organization of the first International Forum on Creative Economies for Development that will take place from November 25 to 27, 2021, in the city of Aguascalientes, in a hybrid format, within the framework of the International Year of the Creative Economy for Sustainable Development, with the participation of government authorities, experts, representatives of civil society and private initiative, at the local, national, regional and international level, as well as the representations of other Agencies of the United Nations System (UN) and international organizations of cooperation for development, such as: the Economic Commission for Latin America Latin America and the Caribbean, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, United Nations Organization for Industrial Development; INEGI, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Culture, among others.

Objectives:

  • Contribute to the strengthening of cultural and creative industries in Mexico through the establishment of collaboration networks to take advantage of the international assistance programs available in the international cooperation agencies for development.
  • The creation of a technical document that guides public policies and strategies to promote the creative economy, through the convening of cultural enterprises and companies from all the states of the Mexican Republic.
  • Support the community of artists, cultural managers, artisans, and other art and culture professionals from Aguascalientes, to help them formalize their cultural and creative initiatives and undertakings.
