This event marks the launch of UNCTAD e-learning course on Gender Perspective on Trade Facilitation Reforms*. During the launch ceremony, the trade facilitation team will present the online platform and the trade facilitation and gender course to participants from Belize. In this event, Simonetta Zarrilli, chief of the Trade, Gender and Development Programme of UNCTAD will be one of the two main speakers.

The course targets members of the National Trade Facilitation Committee in Belize, members of trade associations in Belize and Business academia. It gives a better understanding of how trade facilitation and gender issues are interlinked and why discussing trade facilitation through a gender lens is essential. At the end of the course, participants will also be able to identify who are cross-border women traders, what specific challenges they face and how the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement addresses those challenges.
