Octopus Conference 2015 : Cooperation against Cybercrime

​UNCTAD has been invited by the Council of Europe to take part in two of the workshops organized during the Octopus Conference 2015 on capacity building on cybercrime and on Policies, activities and initiatives on Cybercrime of international and private sector organisations.

UNCTAD will present UNCTAD's E-Commerce and Law Reform work including the findings of the mapping of cybercrime laws released in the 2015 Information Economy Report: Unlocking the potential of E-Commerce for Developing Countries. The Octopus Conference will also look at the challenges that criminal justice authorities are faced with when securing electronic evidence in the context of cloud computing. In this context, UNCTAD will share the findings of the Information Economy Report 2013 on the Cloud Economy focusing on the legal issues raised by the Cloud.

The Octopus Conference will be attended by about 300 representatives from 90 countries.
