The OECD 99th Committee on Consumer Policy (CCP) and Working Party on Consumer Product Safety (WPCPS)

​The OECD CCP is an inter-governmental forum addressing a broad range of consumer issues. The OECD CCP since its establishment in 1969 has brought together senior consumer policy and enforcement officials from OECD governments, along with experts from civil society, trade unions and the business. The OECD WPCPS’s mandate is to promote the safety of consumer products in global markets. The OECD WPCPS reports to and consults with the OECD CCP concerning its activities on a regular basis.

The topics for the discussion during the OECD 99th CCP will include cutting edge consumer issues such as dark commercial pattern online, personalized pricing experiment and cross border enforcement cooperation. The OECD WPCPS will discuss product safety related issues such as inter-agency product safety collaboration, global awareness campaign on product safety and product safety in the Internet of Things.
 
The OECD CCP and WPCPS joint sessions will address artificial intelligence, consumer safety and online platform among other things.
 
UNCTAD will present its work on consumer protection during the joint sessions.
