This first edition of the Sustainable Development Goals week in Haiti is part of the 2030 Agenda adopted by the Member States of the United Nations in 2015. It places particular emphasis on human rights and takes into account the social, economic, and environmental dimensions of development.
The program for the week focuses on SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals. It thus revolves around the promotion of more efficiency and coordination in partnerships between government actors, the private sector, non-governmental organizations and international institutions for the achievement of all the SDGs.
UNCTAD shared its expertise during the discussion of 'Means of implementing the objectives of sustainable development: Diversification of exports and market analysis'.
Participants included ministries, the Haiti Industry Association, Chamber of Commerce, Haiti Standardization Bureau, the, investment facilitation agency, and the Professional Association of Haiti, among others.
