09:00 - 18:00 hrs. 15:00-18:00, Room XXVI, Palais de Nations
Geneva
, Switzerland

The Investment Policy Review (IPR) of Madagascar was initiated at the request of the Government and carried out through a fact-finding mission conducted in February 2015.  The report benefited from the comments received at a national stakeholders' workshop held in Antananarivo in September 2015.

The IPR analyses the regulatory and institutional framework for investment and addresses the challenges and opportunities for FDI in key sectors of the economy, including agriculture, mining, textiles and tourism. In order to unleash the extraordinary FDI attraction potential of the country, IPR also emphasizes the need for targeted policies that can positively impact FDI inflows and optimize its contribution in terms of employment, transfer of technology and skills and fiscal revenues.

The final version of the report will be presented and discussed in an interactive session. High-level Government representatives, the member States of UNCTAD, the civil society and development partners will discuss the key findings and recommendations of the report, the authorities of Madagascar will present their investment policy objectives and international investors established in the country will present their experiences.
