United Nations Forum on Sustainability Standards Steering Committee Meeting

United Nations Forum on Sustainability Standards, Steering Committee (SC), with UNCTAD as the secretariat, is made up of representatives from the six partner agencies that run the forum:

  • Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)
  • International Trade Centre (ITC)
  • United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD)
  • UN Environnent Programme (UN Environment)
  • United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)
  • United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE)

The committee will be chaired by UN Environment.

The committee holds at least three coordination meetings a year and is responsible for:

  • Implementing and facilitating the forum’s global dialogue on policy
  • Analysis and support activities
  • Working areas
  • Thematic focus
  • Work plan
  • Budget

The forthcoming meeting will serve as a roundtable update on activities, raise and discuss issues, agency consultations and other discussions pertinent to related work programmes, potential collaborations, improvements and betterments that are key to maintain the mutual interest of each agency’s beneficiaries and stakeholders.
