Workshop on the “International Standard for Sustainable Wild Collection of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants - Results of the field consultations” (ISSC-MAP)

​The UNCTAD/ BioTrade Facilitation Programme (BTFP) will be presenting its contributions to the development of the International Standard for Sustainable Wild Collection of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants by reporting on the results from the field testing in Ecuador.

This workshop will focus on the outcomes of the ISSC-MAP field consultations that taking place in MAP projects in Brazil, China, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ecuador and China.

BTFP’s work with natural ingredients and sustainable wild collection is one of its key areas of action. Since March 2004, UNCTAD/BTFP and beneficiary countries have been actively involved in the ISSC-MAP process by providing comments on several drafts and participating in various consultation workshops. Furthermore, BTFP was able to undertake a general evaluation of the ISSC-MAP through field consultation in Ecuador.
