UNCTAD is organizing the Intersessional Panel of the United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD) from 23 to 25 January 2017. The meeting will be held in Room XVII of the E-building in the Palais des Nations in Geneva.
The Panel will address the following two priority themes:
Theme 1: New innovation approaches to support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
Theme 2: The role of science, technology and innovation in ensuring food security by 2030.
In addition, the Panel will examine issues related to the follow-up to the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS).
Findings and recommendations of the Panel are expected to be considered at the 20th session of the CSTD to be held in May 2017.
