UNCTAD and Ministry of Trade and Industry of Ghana to develop policy for SMEs and entrepreneurship

19 November 2013

Following initial collaboration in 2012, UNCTAD and the Government of Ghana have continued to work towards strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Ghana and developing an SME and Entrepreneurship Policy.

In close collaboration with the Government of Ghana's Office for Private Sector Development, UNCTAD gathered a group of 40 high-level representatives of key Ghanaian institutions for a pilot workshop structured around the participatory methodology of UNCTAD's Entrepreneurship Policy Framework.

Chaired by the Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, former Minister for Trade and Industry, stakeholders engaged in an interactive peer review of the current entrepreneurial ecosystem and supporting entrepreneurship policy environment of Ghana and discussed priority action areas.
