"New Economic Approaches for a Coherent Post-2015 Agenda", is the theme of UNCTAD's fourth Public Symposium, to be held on 24 and 25 June 2013 at the Palais des Nations, in Geneva.
The Public Symposium is an annual UNCTAD outreach event, where government officials, academics, representatives from civil society and the private sector, and other observers will bring together broad views and perspectives on topics likely to dominate the global political agenda in 2013 and beyond.
Key topics to be discussed will include:
Macroeconomic and financial governance on the road to 2015
Trade and investment rules for inclusive and sustainable development
The Symposium programme is built around a combination of plenary sessions featuring leading experts from developed and developing countries. Plenary sessions will be held on the mornings of 24 and 25 June, with parallel breakout sessions on the afternoon of both days devoted to the discussion of key aspects related to the above-mentioned topics.
The Symposium is open to representatives of member States, national parliaments, international organizations, United Nations agencies, civil society, the private sector, academia and the media.
