International multimodal transport continues to grow exponentially, while the relevant international legal framework becomes increasingly fragmented and complex. The report presents the views and opinions expressed by 109 respondents to the questionnaire circulated by the UNCTAD secretariat to a wide range of interested parties, including all Governments and all relevant industry associations to determine whether an international instrument to govern multimodal transport might be feasible.
