WORLD INVESTMENT REPORT 1996

Investment, trade and international policy agreements

The World Investment Report 1996 documents a new height of FDI flows in 1995: US$ 315 billion, an increase of 38 per cent over 1994. The World Investment Report 1996 also provides in-depth analysis of the interlinkages between FDI and trade. The rapid increases in FDI result in a new and more complex relationship between world trade and investment. And they contribute to more international negotiations on investment.

The report includes a statistical annex with FDI statistics and other related indicators.
