  20 April - The first multi-agency study to present the United Nations system-wide perspective on this exciting new topic was launched as part of the Creative Africa initiative at UNCTAD XII.
  18 April - Africa has witnessed strong growth in foreign direct investment in recent years, with inflows rising to US$36 billion in 2006 from $2.4 billion in 1985 and likely to remain at about $36 billion in 2007. These findings are detailed in a new report, launched in conjunction with the opening of the Global Investment Forum at UNCTAD XII.
 08 April - The publication is designed to assist least developed countries (LDCs) during the preparatory process for UNCTAD XII by highlighting the development challenges, prospects and potential that exist in LDCs.
 07 April - Developing countries´ foreign investment policies should be adapted to their individual circumstances and development objectives, and not "blithely adopted" from frequently inappropriate policy notions in use elsewhere, UNCTAD urged in Paris on 27 March.
