UNCTAD/ FAO/ IFOAM Task Force on Harmonisation and Equivalence in Organic Agriculture

The International Task Force on Harmonization and Equivalence in Organic Agriculture is a joint initiative of UNCTAD, FAO and the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFOAM) that will serve as an open-ended platform for dialogue between public bodies and agencies and private sector institutions/companies involved in trade and regulatory activities in the organic agriculture sector, in order to facilitate international trade. Besides exploring opportunities for harmonisation, equivalence and mutual recognition of organic agriculture standards, regulations and conformity assessment systems, the Task Force will also discuss measures to facilitate access to organic markets, in particular by developing countries and smallholders.
