Mainstreaming the Gender Dimension in Trade and Development Issues..
Overview:

Our work on trade and poverty to which Secretary General of UNCTAD is attaching particular significance, will also contribute to resolving one of the greatest moral and humanitarian challenges facing us this century not the least because poverty is both a cause and an effect relationship with gender equity. In more ways than one, the world's fight against poverty should begin with women.

Harmony with environmental sustainability and the role of women in this is an important consideration too. So our work will address in a holistic way, all these "values"- whether we are looking at the strategic picture and systemic issues, the ground reality of trends, implications and impact on development or examining specific sectors and sub-sectors of production and trade, and in targeting technical assistance and capacity-building activities.
