Creation and retention of value in the extractive industries
 
The African Oil, Gas and Mines Trade and Finance Conference and Exhibition is an annual forum for sharing experiences and debating topical issues relating to the extractive industries, such as: investment and finance; legal and regulatory issues; revenue and resource management; energy security; technology; and local participation.
 
The objective of the conference is to provide a platform for high-level policy dialogue between producers and consumers, investors and host countries and other stakeholders.
 

 

The conference is expected to attract up to 400 participants, including key decision-makers; investors; executives of major and small oil companies as well as mining companies.
 
High level decision makers and experts from African National Oil, Mining Companies, International companies, the Private sector as well as traditional and new generation of investors will exchange views and explore innovative ideas that could foster extractive industries´ contribution to the overall development of Africa.
 

 

This is the 15th conference organized by UNCTAD on the African continent since 1996. Previous locations include: Zimbabwe (1996 and 1997), Ivory Coast (1998), Namibia (1999), Ghana (2000), Cameroon (2002), Angola (2003), Morocco (2004), Mozambique (2005), Algeria (2006), Kenya (2007), Equatorial Guinea (2008), Mali (2009), São Tomé and Príncipe (2010).
