Raising awareness on Peer Review recommendations to improve consumer protection in Peru
The Voluntary Peer Review on Consumer Protection Law and Policy of Peru was conducted at the Eighth United Nations Conference on Competition and Consumer Protection from 19 to 23 October 2020 in Geneva, Switzerland, under the auspices of UNCTAD and the leadership of the National Institute for the Defence of Competition and Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) of Peru.
UNCTAD and Indecopi are hosting a public event in Lima to disseminate the findings and recommendations emanating from the review and to raise awareness of the National Consumer Protection Council of Peru on the impact that those recommended actions can have in improving consumer policies and welfare. The ultimate goal is to support policy and institutional reform and to strengthen consumer protection in the country.
