The national validation workshop is organized to bring stakeholders together to review and validate the results of the Ghana eTrade Readiness Assessment (eT Ready), undertaken by UNCTAD at the request of the Ministry of Trade, and Industry (MOTI). Ghana’s eT Ready provides a diagnostic of the country’s e-commerce ecoystem and makes policy recommendations aimed at creating an enabling environment for the sustainable and inclusive development outcomes. The eT Ready recommendations also aim to support of Ghana’s Industrial Transformation Programme and Digitalization Agenda, as well as complement efforts undertaken by the members of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) through the ECOWAS E-commerce Strategy 2023-2027.  The meeting targets Ghanaian e-commerce stakeholders from the public and private sector.

Ghana’s eT Ready expands UNCTAD’s ongoing technical assistance on e-commerce in West Africa. It is the 11th assessment for the region, following 8 country eT Readies (Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo) and 2 regional assessments for the West African Economic Monetary Union and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
