, Algeria

The E-Commerce and Digital Economy Branch of UNCTAD, in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Export Promotion in Algeria, is organising national consultations from 21 to 23 November 2023 in Algiers in the context of the preparation of an eTrade Readiness Assessment.

These consultations will bring together key national e-commerce actors and stakeholders, representing the public and private sectors, civil society and academia, in order to gather their perspectives on the opportunities and barriers related to e-commerce development in Algeria. In-country technical and financial partners active in the country will also take part in the meetings. Thematic discussions will be organized in seven policy areas key to e-commerce development, including e-commerce readiness assessment and strategy formulation, ICT infrastructure and services, trade logistics and trade facilitation, payment solutions, legal and regulatory frameworks, e-commerce skills development and access to finance.
