Online course on the economic analysis of non-tariff measures
17 October - 11 December 2022
Online

The UNCTAD Trade Analysis Branch will organize the second edition of the online course on economic analysis of non-tariff measures (NTMs) of 2022. This edition of the course will be held from 17 October to 11 December 2022.

Objectives

The objective of this course is to introduce the main empirical approaches used to assess the impact of NTMs on bilateral trade flows. It targets audiences who are working in trade and/or development field, such as government officials, researchers, and representatives of the private sectors. We especially encourage participants who want to strengthen their understanding of NTMs, use NTM data, and/or who are or may be involved in the design or negotiation of policies related to NTMs. The course may also benefit to participants involved in the regulatory cooperation and harmonization of NTMs across countries/sectors, and participants involved in the resolution of trade frictions related to NTMs.

Participation

A limited number of applications will be considered from the stakeholders of developed countries. Qualified women candidates are particularly encouraged to apply.

Interested candidates should apply by following these instructions.

A webinar to kick off the course will also be open to the public on 6 October 2022 from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. (Geneva local time).
