Advancing Creative Economy for Sustainable, Inclusive and Equitable Future

In welcoming the routine activities of the Bali Democracy Forum (BDF) every year, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is organizing the Road to the 14th Bali Democracy Forum: Economic Pillar. This activity will be held in Uluwatu, Bali on 28–29 October 2021.

This virtual talk show has the theme Advancing Creative Economy for Sustainable, Inclusive, and Equitable Future.

"The creative economy is one of the most dynamic and developing sectors in the global economy, and it contributes to job creation, value addition, and the promotion of national identity," says Teuku Faizasyah, in a statement by the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The main reason for choosing the creative economy is because this sector has a strong role as a driver in building a future that respects the environment, workers, and basic democratic principles.

The creative industry is the main vehicle for creating a sustainable, inclusive and just economy, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Mahendra Siregar.

To be sustainable, inclusive, and equitable, we need to design strategies that encourage innovation, protect creative workers, provide equal access to creative economy products and services, address digital divides within and between societies, and promote gender equality.

The spirit of sustainable development is inherent in the creative economy, which marks the transition from a resource-based economy to a knowledge-based economy, says the Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno.
