Supporting sustainable freight transport in Jamaica: Eco-driving training workshop

​United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in collaboration with Natural Resources Canada, All Island Truckers Association Jamaica, and the Ministry of Transport and Mining of Jamaica is organizing a 3-day national capacity-building workshop on eco-driving in Jamaica.

The workshop aims to raise awareness and build the capacity of local stakeholders in the public and private sectors on the sustainability principles in freight transport with specific focus on eco-driving. Participants will engage in training and outcome-related discussions on the principles and techniques of eco-driving with a view to develop a tailored national eco-driving training curriculum.

The training targets local stakeholders in transport including, transport policy makers, transport regulating authorities, truck owner-operators and drivers and fleet managers, public passenger bus drivers as well as training and research institutions.
