Virtual Institute Workshop on Trade in Services

​The Virtual Institute (Vi), with funding from the Government of Finland, and in cooperation with UNCTAD's  Division on International Trade in Goods and Services, and Commodities, will hold a workshop on services trade and trade integration for Mauritian academics, October 16-18.

The workshop, delivered by DITC expert,  Martine Julsaint, seeks to increase the awareness and capacity of participants on the following topics: i) the current status of Mauritius' economy and issues at stake in the development of the national services sector; ii) key issues in further developing of the services sector as a means to diversify the national economy and trade of Mauritius; iii) the country's existing services trade and trade policy options at bilateral, regional and international levels, iv) the role of an enabling (policy, regulatory and institutional) environment for the promotion of services development and services trade; and v) the role of research and assessment methods in promoting informed policy making and trade negotiations.

The three-day workshop will be held on the campus of Vi core university member, the University of Mauritius.
