11.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m. Creating your Smart Village

New technologies can be considered as pathways to job creation and vulnerable groups to become part of the working force. They can be a major leapfrog to the development of rural areas. While focus is put on the creation of smart cities, what about the concept of smart villages? What investments in people and infrastructure are required for villages to thrive? Lessons can be learned on initiatives that take place and how these can be scaled up. A mindset change is required, and youth and young entrepreneurship can serve as role models and inspire a larger population to get involved.
