25 countries benefitted from a workshop on foreign direct investment and entrepreneurship development conducted by UNCTAD in collaboration with UNIDO and the Islamic Development Bank in Rabat, Morocco.

As part of the MOU between UNCTAD and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), UNCTAD collaborated with the IDB group Investment Promotion Technical Assistance Program in the organisation of the V Capacity Building Programme of "FDI and Entrepreneurship Development" training workshop held in Rabat on the 6-8 December 2011.

The workshop included 32 participants from 25 IDB member countries, 7 of which were least developed countries. The participants came namely from Investment Promotion Agencies, but also different Government ministries and SME and entrepreneurship development departments.

One day was dedicated to present UNCTAD's Entrepreneurship Policy Framework. Participants showed special interest on the content of the framework and gave positive and valuable feedback for further improvement. Many of them requested further information for its implementation in their respective countries. The Gambia, for example, has since officially requested assistance to UNCTAD in developing a National Entrepreneurship Policy.
