UNCTAD provides NTM policy support for developing countries on the negotiation of trade agreements, domestic policy reform, and enhance regulatory transparency.
Policy support encompasses various areas, including providing:
- Tailor-made analysis to help policymakers to assess the economic effect of NTMs on trade from a regional perspective;
- Capacity-building workshops to raise awareness of NTMs at the technical and political level (through face-to-face and Online Training);
- Technical assistance to developing and least-developed countries in developing good regulatory practices as well as closing transparency and knowledge gap on NTMs for business to increase their export potential.
