TrainForTrade Module 2 of the Modern Port Management course in Dominican Republic

The Spanish-speaking network of UNCTAD’s Port Management Programme/TrainForTrade organized the delivery of Module 2 on " Organisation of a port system" in collaboration with Haina International Terminals and Port of Santo Domingo - Sansouci.

The training took place from 18 to 20 September 2023 for the 6th cohort, which consists of 26 middle port managers, including 7 women. The training course was conducted by international port experts from Spain and UNCTAD.

Module2 is articulated in 2 sub-modules: Sub-module 2A “The role of the port” and Sub-module 2B “Port organization at national and local levels”.

The module covers various aspects pertaining to the operational modes of port services, fundamental principles for ensuring efficiency and competitiveness, fostering complementarity and cooperation within the port community, and the essential principles governing the handling of cargo and containers.
