Participation and Registration

Policymakers, industry leaders and members of the public and private sector with an interest in supply chains are invited to participate.

All participants must complete the on-line registration.

Languages of the Forum

The working language during the Forum will be English.

Simultaneous interpretation services will be provided in Spanish and French on the first and last days of the event. Additionally, selected sessions during the second and third days will also have interpretation services available in Spanish and French.

Food and Beverages

The Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre has a cafeteria. A selection of restaurants is available close to the venue.

Two coffee breaks will be provided per day.

Daytime temperatures typically peak at a balmy 30°C / 86°F, so bring light clothes suitable for the tropics.

Visa and entry requirements

All visitors to Barbados must have a valid passport and a valid return ticket.

Visitors from most countries around the world do not need a visa to enter Barbados. However the following 15 territories do require a visa: Afghanistan, Bosnia Herzegovina, Dominican Republic, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Iraq, Noth Korea, Laos, Libya, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Somalia, Syria, Taiwan and Yemen.

All travellers need to complete the online Immigration and Customs forms 72 hours prior to arrival.

Transportation

Barbados taxis can be identified with a letter Z on their license plate.

They can be reserved beforehand or hailed at the airport. Make sure to ask and verify the fare before accepting the ride.

Shuttle services will be available to and from the venue from the following hotels: Hilton Barbados Hotel, Courtyard Marriott and the Radisson Aquatica Resort.

UNCTAD does not cover accommodation and travel expenses, so participants are responsible for paying for their accommodation and other expenses during their stay.

Currency

The national currency is the Barbadian Dollar. US Dollars are accepted. Nevertheless, change is given in the local Barbadian Dollar. Euros are not accepted. Some hotels provide currency exchange services.

As of 15 January 2024, 1 United States Dollar = 2 Barbadian Dollars.

Currency change may be carried out in commercial banks who follow the same exchange rates as the Central Bank of Barbados.

 

Electricity

There are two types of plugs used in Barbados: Type A and Type B.

The country operates using a 115V supply voltage and 50Hz.

If your plug does not conform to these two options, you will definitely need a universal travel adaptor in order to charge your personal devices.
