Results achieved

The Steering Committee (COPIL) congratulates the partners and the team on the progress made under the PC-CINF. To support the final stages of the Joint Programme, the COPIL approved the following resolutions:

  • Adoption of the SDG roadmap and its action plan as a guiding document for the CINF roadmap, while focusing on the basic structuring of priority actions for development, in the absence of Haiti's revised Strategic Plan for Sustainable Development (PSDH).
  • Adoption of the organization of the National Forum on Financing for Development. Following the completion of the Development Financing Assessment (DFA), the Development Financing Forum will be held.
  • Validation of the Action Plan presented by the JP team, for the final phase of the PC-CINF and, consequently, admission of the extension of the JP for a period of three months from June 1, 2023; which decision will be submitted to the Secretariat of the Joint Fund for the SDGs shortly for ratification.
  • Acknowledgment that a CII phase or component is required for the full and normal implementation of the INFF in due form and that it is necessary to see with the Joint Fund how this can be achieved without too much of a break between the two components.

Haiti continues to be plagued by political instability, dramatic security problems, an acute economic and social crisis, and persistent blockages, all of which affect the daily lives of the population, who are also significantly affected by natural disasters.

Despite difficult conditions and logistical obstacles, the Joint Programme, carried out in active partnership with the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation (MPCE), UNCTAD, and UNDP, was able to continue its progress and confirm its status as the only genuine national planning process underway, aimed at the country's long-term development strategy.

The steering committee of the Joint Program National Integrated Framework for Financing Haiti's Development (JP-INFF) financed by the Joint SDG Fund will hold its fourth ordinary meeting on February 28, 2023.
